Here’s the Simply Subtraction Level 2 workbook for helping children with Down Syndrome and other special needs learn to subtract with the help of a rekenrek. It follows Simply Addition Level 1, Simply Subtraction Level 1, and Simply Addition Level 2. The Simply Subtraction Level 2 Workbook teaches children to subtract numbers within twenty.

I made this series because it was only after introducing a rekenrek that my son with Down Syndrome began to develop number sense and accuracy in adding and subtracting numbers. But I could not find a Down-syndrome friendly math program that was based on using a rekenrek. So I had to make one.

As with all the workbooks in this series, the teacher’s guide is included in the workbook to make life easier for parents and teachers. For example:

I recommend printing two copies of the workbook, so you can demonstrate or work together in your copy and then another day, let your student work independently in his/her copy.
