I am so excited to share the news that my daughter Carolyn has just published her seventh novel. Set in the Dark Ages, The Tale of Finegan Patches is the story of an impoverished young serf and his epic battle against evil.
For centuries the sinister, blood-thirsty dragon Trepezard had lain asleep in his lair. But something mysterious has awaken him and his wrath. In one fiery breath, the dragon can burn entire villages. The peasants of Leatholin live in mortal fear of their lives. Yet the treacherous and corrupt lords and knights are too afraid to protect their people. Meanwhile, there are threats of the the wild and powerful invaders from the North. The situation is dire and hopeless.
Until one insignificant, simple-hearted farm boy sets out to fight the dragon.
The Tale of Finegan Patches is full of twists and turns, secrets and surprises. Its action-packed plot will hold your kids in breathless suspense, up summits of hope and down into the depths of despair. It is an unforgettable tale of friendship, courage, and the inestimable value of life.
If you are looking for a wholesome, exciting novel your kids will love, this is it.
And if your kids love it, please do us a great favor: share it with your friends and write a review on Amazon. We would be ever so grateful. Books worth reading are books worth sharing 🙂
P.S. This is her seventh novel… you can read about her other ones here.
P.P.S. Carolyn wrote The Tale of Finegan Patches after studying abroad in Spain last year, traipsing around Europe and exploring the ruins of abandoned castles and churches. She published it just days before entering a Dominican convent as a postulant at the age of nineteen — one final story written for her younger siblings who love adventures. Please keep her in your prayers as she begins this time of intense formation and discernment.
