Adding to my collection of Classic Literature Guides here are:  The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, Jo’s Boys by Louisa Mae Alcott, Outlaws of Ravenhurst by Sister Imelda Wallace, and The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy.

The purpose of these guides are 1) to ensure reading comprehension and 2) start introducing some critical thinking skills.  The questions are meant to be discussed, not used as a written assignment.  Sometimes I stick to straight comprehension.  Sometimes I want them to relate what was going on in the book to something in their own life.  Sometimes I want to introduce a virtue or a saint.
